Mr. Omar El Damaty

Chairman

Mr. Omar El Damaty is the Chairman of Arabian Food Industries Company (Domty). He has 40 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, having been the founder of Domty. Mr. El Damaty is also Chairman of Tatweer Company, and was the former Chairman of the Dairy Products Industry Division in the Industrial Union, former Vice Chairman of the 6th of October City Investors Association, member of the 6th of October City Board of Trustees as well a member of the Egyptian-French Business Association and the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Mr. El Damaty graduated from Cairo University with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science Technology. 

Mr. Mohamed Omar Mohamed El Damaty

CEO and Vice Chairman

Mr. El Damaty is the CEO and Vice Chairman, and brings 11 years of experience in the F&B industry to the table. He started his career in 2006 as a board member of Domty. He then became a Board Member of the Arab Agricultural Development Company, as well as a Board Member of Tatweer. He is still currently part of these boards. Mr. El Damaty graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the American University in Cairo.

Mr. Khaled Mohamed Reda El Damaty

Board Member

Mr. El Damaty is the General Manager of Domty, he is graduated from Tanta University with a Bachelor’s degree in commerce and he has more than 30 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.

He is a board member of the Development Company for food industries since 2017

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Baky Abdelrahrman

Managing Director for Financial Affairs

Mr. Abdelraham is a Board Member and the Managing Director for Financial Affairs of the Arabian Food Industries Company (Domty). He has extensive experience in the food and beverage industry, having held several financial and executive positions in subsidiaries of Americana Group Egypt. Since he started his career in 1988, Mr. Abdelrahman held several key positions across a wide range of companies, most notable of which were his roles as the former Chairman of the Auditing and Tax Committee at Xerox Egypt, former Vice-chairman of the Auditing and Tax Committee at the Egyptian Company for Canned Products, former Auditor in Fiat Company and former Board member of Qaraween Company for Land Development (Americana Group). Mr. Abdelrhman graduated from Ain Shams University, Egypt with a Bachelor’s degree in commerce.

Mr. Mounir Fakhry AbdelNour

Board Member

Mr. Abdel Nour graduated from Cairo University with a Bachelor’s degree in statistics. He has 28 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, having started his career in 1983 as the Chairman of Société Egypto Française Pour les Industries Agro-Alimentaires—Vitrac and thereafter the Chairman of Hero Middle East Company. Mr. Abdel Nour held several notable positions in government and industry including former Minister of Industry, Trade & Investments, former Minister of Tourism, former Member of Parliament, former Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, former Member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Competition Authority, former Member of the Board of Directors of the Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchange and former Member of the Board of Directors of Arab African Bank. Mr. Mounir Fakhry AbdelNour obtained an M.A. in Economics from the American University in Cairo. 

Mr. Yehia Mohamed Awad Bin Laden

Board Member

Mr. Bin Laden is a Board Member with 26 years of experience in the F&B industry. Having started his career with Domty in 1989, Mr. Yehia proceeded to become the Chairman of the Arab Agricultural Development Company, and Chairman of the United Group for Highway Development Company. He is also a Board Member of three other entities: the Board of Directors of Architectural Development Company, Talaat Mostafa Holding Group Company, and TMG for Real Estate and Tourism Investment Company. Mr. Bin Laden graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Cairo University.

Mr. Yasser El Mallawany

Board Member

Yasser El-MaIIawany is currently Vice Chairman of EFG Hermes Holding, the premier Investment Bank in the Arab region and the market leader in securities brokerage, asset management, investment banking, research, private equity and Leasing. Since the time he joined the company during April 2002, he has been instrumental among the team that led EFG Hermes to where it is today as the top notch regional investment banking operation, listed on Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and with offices over 6 countries in the Arab Region.

He is currently Chairman of EFG Hermes Kingdom Saudi Arabia. He is a Member to the Board of Trustees of EFG-Hermes Foundation and a Board Member of Commercial International Investment Company (CIIC), whereby he participated in founding it as one of the largest investment companies in Egypt.

Among the duties previously held by Mr. El Mallawany, were the Chairman of ACE General and ACE Life Insurance Companies, the Chairman of Fleming-CIIC; the first Cairo-based regional investment bank, the Chairman of EFG Hermes Private Equity, the Chairman of Ideavelopers Company, the Chairman of Egyptian Investment Management Association (EIMA). EIMA represents all the buy side players in Egypt. Mr. El Mallawany was a Board Member of the National Investment Bank; a Board Member of Audi Bank (Lebanon), a Board Member of Credit Lebanese (Lebanon), a Board Member of Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchanges, a Board MRmber of Egyptian Capital Market Authority and was elected as a Member of the Advisory Council of Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA), Washington DC, U.S.A. (from June 2007 to March 2014).

He was a Senior Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer of Talaat Mostafa Group (TMG); the largest developer in Egypt (TMG is owner of Four Seasons chain in Egypt).

Prior to his investment banking career, he has spent 16 years at Commercial International Bank (CIB), formerly Chase National Bank, finally serving as the General Manager of the Corporate Banking.

Mr. El-MalIawany, is born on 20 October 1960 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Cairo University.

Mr. Mohamed El Akhdar

Board Member

Mr. Mohamed is the co-founder and managing partner of Square Forty, a private equity firm focused on buyouts and special situations. He brings over 17 years of experience across various industries including financial services, healthcare, real estate, consumer, energy, transportation, construction and building materials among others.

Prior to Square Forty, Mr. Mohamed was the CEO of the investment banking division of Beltone Financial (BTFH.CA) in Egypt, where he provided advisory services for a full range of transactions including mergers, sales, acquisitions, spin-offs, divestitures and other restructurings. He also worked closely with financial sponsors to originate, structure, and execute equity capital market transactions including initial public offerings and follow-on offerings.

Prior to Beltone, he was a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) within the global corporate strategy team, in Washington DC and later in Abu Dhabi, where he advised major corporations and governments on strategic transformation initiatives worldwide.

Mr. Mohamed holds a B.S in Engineering from the American University in Cairo (AUC) and a M.S in Finance (summa cum laude) from the George Washington University School of Business.

Mr. Ahmed El Rashidi

Board Member

With 33 years experience in the food industry, Mr. Ahmed succeeded in building a legacy of success throughout his career. Mr. Ahmed led El Rashidi El Mizan which is well known company in food industry (Halawa & Tehina) till July 2019. During Mr. Ahmed heading company between Egypt & Sudan sales was over 150M$ in 2018. His leadership, knowledge and deep understanding of the business dynamics in the region have enabled him to build one of the most successful and thought after food companies in the region. Starting October 2019 Mr. Ahmed started a new success journey by stablishing DSS - Digital Sphere Solutions Egypt (subsidiary of DSS KSA) Digital Transformation as Partner & CEO.

Mr. Ahmed is also a member of the Egyptian Businessmen Association and serves as an active member in the Export Committee. Mr. Ahmed El Rashidi was born 8th Aug. 1965, he is an alumnus of Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule –Dokki 1983, and has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Faculty of Economics and Political Science Cairo University 1986. DBA in Economics from the Constantinian University 2001.

Mrs. Zeinab Mohamed Abdel Hameed Shahin

Board Member

Mrs. Zeinab is one of the original shareholders of Domty and she is a board member of the Development Company for food industries since 2017

Ms. Reem Safy

Board Member

Ms. Reem Safy is Al SAFY Group’s CEO. She shoulders the responsibility for direct and coordinate activities of businesses concerned with the production, pricing, sales, and/or distribution of products.

Ms. Reem embarked on her career path by joining AL SAFY Group as HR Vice President in 2018. Later in 2019, she got promoted as Executive Vice President. Initially, she was met with a skeptical attitude given her being the daughter of the founder. Nevertheless, she defied this misconception by proving to be a young, female figure sought out by everyone.

It is also worth mentioning that Ms. Reem graduated from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 2016, with a Bachelor of Science Degree, specialized in Petroleum Engineering. Additionally, she has obtained her Master of Psychological Science Degree from University of Glasgow, Scotland.

Mrs. Sherine El Gamal

Board Member

Mrs. Sherine El Gamal is a board member at Domty. She has previous experience in the Retail Industry.

Mrs. Sherine graduated with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude) from the American University in Cairo in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications (Marketing) and a Minor in Business.
